Untitled Pokemon Game

once i get the recources together im gonna put game dev stuff here. at the moment its gonna be just the pokemon game until I get back onto Jess' dice game. only issue with that is i need to learn a bunch about unity to get started. I may do it after this website is to my liking if im still feeling the itch to code.

Story

While I haven't got the entire story together at the moment, I have the basic idea and some fun little bits to go along with said idea.

The basic premise is that you are a kid from a poor mining town who ends up doing an unpaid internship for the region's professor. While progressing through the region and defeating gym leaders you start to notice each gym get progressively more corporate. The bad guy in this game is capitalism.

The elite four will just be board members of a corporate conglomerate and the champion is a nepo-baby you aren't able to beat. Afte you beat the elite 4 the first time and then take down the company with the help of the legendary, the elite 4 members and champion will be replaced with earlier gym leaders with better teams.

Starter Trio

So I've decided to go with a different 3-type trio than the standard fire-water-grass trio. Since the player starts out in a mining town, I've gone with a ground-steel-ice type trio. For the 3 starters I've chosen: Trapinch, Tinkatink, and Vanillite.

I've chosen these 3 for a few reasons: They each have 3 evo lines, they each have similar base state totals at final evolution, and most importantly, i like them

Speaking of base stat totals, some of you may know that trapinch is fucking insane when it comes to base attack. So I've decided to nerf his attack stat for the purposes of good game progression, aka so u cant sweep everyone to the 3rd gym with bite alone.

Below are the final evolutions alongside base state totals I've taken from bulbapedia.

Lanin Town

Lanin Town is the starter town in this game. As mentioned previously it is a poor mining town. So I've done minimal buildings with, obviously, a mine. The player gets their start as a gift from the geological center located near the mine. I can't quite remember if I've properly flushed out why you get the pokemon.

Anyway, below are a couple of images of the two iterations of the starter town I've produced. One was in Gen 3 graphics because I thought I could make a joke game to learn the ropes and ended up taking it too seriously and had to commit to the proper game. The second image is the town in the Gen 4 tileset I put together. I got some feedback and am in the middle of redesigning the town so will put the newer iteration here when that's been done.
